I'm Jordan, and this is JJ Everitt Photography.
I'm a native Oregonian, photographer, writer.. kinda, and curious wanderer. Most of what I photograph isn't planned. I go looking for somewhere new and take the long way when I can.
This website is a collection of what I find along the way.
Photographs, stories, observations, experiments, places, people, and the occasional thought that seemed worth writing down. Some of it is beautiful. Some of it is strange. Some of it is completely ordinary.
We spend so much of our lives looking through windshields, windows, and phone screens that it's easy to miss what's actually around us.
Photography gives me an excuse to stop. To look closer. To freeze a moment before it becomes another thing I almost remember.

Why This Exists
There are things happening everywhere that most of us never really see. We're busy. We're distracted. We're looking at our phones. We're trying to get somewhere. We pass through places without ever stopping to look at them.
A camera gives me a reason to stop and share.
There is a lot to see when you slow down.
A road you've never taken. A town you've driven through a hundred times but never really noticed. A storm moving across the mountains. A stranger's expression. An old building with ghost signs. Wildlife at the edge of the road. Sunlight hitting something ordinary at exactly the right moment.
I photograph those things.
